Sir,

I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th instant and to inform you that you have failed to exculpate yourself to the satisfaction of the Governor from the charges preferred against you in my letter of the 5th instant and to apprise you that on the 18th instant the question of your suspension will be brought before the Executive Council.

2.

You will be allowed to appear before the Council and to defend yourself orally.
